At Arka Family Dental, we strive to create a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere so that you will feel at ease from the moment you walk through the door. As a new patient, expect to be greeted with a smile from one of our friendly staff who will then get you checked in for your first appointment with us.
We will gather all your information from your health history to your insurance information to get started. Our team will answer any questions you have about your insurance plan coverage and payment options, making sure you know exactly what to expect when it comes to paying for your dental care. To make it this process easier, we have our new patient forms online so you can fill them out before you arrive if you choose. Once we get the information we need to create your patient account, we will send you to begin your first visit with our dental hygienist.
During Your Appointment
Your first visit will start with a thorough exam and digital x-rays performed by our experienced hygienist. We also use Diagnodent®, one of the newest options in laser dental technology to detect decay and other dental issues. This high-tech device can uncover decay that even x-rays may miss, ensuring that small dental problems are addressed before they become larger, more expensive issues.
Once your teeth have been examined, our hygienist will perform gum measurements to determine the best course of action for your cleanings. If you have signs of gingivitis or periodontal disease, a more thorough cleaning may be needed. Our hygienist will discuss the findings from your exam with you and perform the best cleaning method for your dental needs.
After your cleaning is finished, Dr. Vemula will meet with you to discuss your dental health plan. She will go over the results of your exam, answer any questions and discuss any treatments that are needed. We always schedule plenty of time for our patients so that you will never feel rushed while visiting our office. If there are treatments needed, often we can perform these the same day. This can save you a trip back to our office and address any dental problems right away.
